The Charlotte Hornets exceeded expectations this season, reaching the play-in tournament. Unfortunately for them, it appears that's as far as they will go this season. The Hornets trail by more than 20 points late in the ball game against the Atlanta Hawks. Nevertheless, it was a successful season with something to build off of. That's particularly true for the Hornets point guard, LaMelo Ball.

As Bleacher Report caught, Ball joined LeBron James on an incredibly exclusive list. They are the only players in NBA history to record a season with 20 or more points per game, to go along with six assists and six rebounds while still under the age of 20.

Unlike James, Ball did not have nearly the pressure when he entered the NBA. LaMelo Ball's older brother, Lonzo, had a ton of hype coming out of UCLA. He did not live up to the hype, which lowered expectations for LaMelo. He has easily surpassed anyone's beliefs on what he will do in the league.

In just the Hornets point guard's second season, Ball averaged 20.1 points, 7.6 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game. He also showed consistency on the defensive end of the floor, finishing in the top 15 in steals per game with 1.6.

LaMelo Ball is the middle of three brothers, all of whom have NBA aspirations. Once Lonzo, the oldest brother, left Los Angeles, his play picked up. LaMelo burst onto the scene with a fantastic rookie season with the Hornts. The youngest brother, LiAngelo Ball, is currently in the NBA's G League. Some people have believed that he might actually be the most talented of all three.
