The Charlotte Hornets are trying to get revenge on the Indiana Pacers after losing 116-106 on Wednesday, and rookie phenom LaMelo Ball is off to a hot start. He made yet another impressive pace in the first quarter of game two of the series.

LaMelo Ball secured the rebound, took one dribble, and threw a dime pass to Terry Rozier who made the easy, uncontested layup.

The youngest of the well-known band of brothers, LaMelo Ball was selected third overall in the 2020 NBA Draft and was one of the most talked-about prospects of the decade, and not only because of his talent, but also because of LaVar and his antics.

As a 19-year-old point guard, LaMelo Ball has been impressive at times this season, but Hornets head coach James Borrego has handled his minutes rather poorly amid turnover issues and learning for the youngster.

LaMelo Ball is averaging 11.1 points with 5.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists so far in his short NBA career, and he is only playing on average a little more than 24 minutes a game. He became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double earlier this season at the age of 19, breaking the record set by his brother, Lonzo.

Still, LaMelo Ball makes plays like this on a nightly basis, and with plays like this will be a fixture in this league for a long time. The more minutes he gets and the more he develops in the NBA, the more problems he will cause for opposing teams as the Hornets try and keep pace in the Eastern Conference.

The Hornets entered Friday night's NBA slate just half a game out of the No. 8 playoff seed in the East, trailing the New York Knicks. The Hornets are competing with a lot of other teams for that eighth spot, however. The Orlando Magic are 8-11 in ninth place. The Chicago Bulls are 7-10 in tenth place, and the Raptors are 7-11 and in 11th place, tied with the Hornets. LaMelo Ball has a lot of work to do.
