The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Washington Wizards 109-103, handing the Capital City team their second home loss this season. Charlotte pulled away in the second quarter and pretty much controlled the game from that point on.
Their backcourt carried them throughout this game as well. Terry Rozier put up a season-high 32 points. It was definitely his best game of the season and he looked comfortable stroking it from deep–including a dagger in the closing seconds to shut the lid on this one. Rozier is a vital piece for the team's success moving forward, so seeing him get going against a good team was a welcome boost.

When Terry was asked about his performance, he simply responded “It feels great.”
“When I woke up this morning and had shoot around, I kinda knew what day it was going to be. You know I'm never going to doubt myself,” Rozier continued.
Terry Rozier has had some rough games to start out the season after rehabbing from a nagging ankle injury. With that said, seeing him get rolling is reassuring and James Borrego loved it.
“He's the heartbeat of this team. We believe in his shot and he has to as well. It was just a matter of time before he heats up. We trust him to hit big shots early to keep us in it. It's the start of a big time run for Terry Rozier and this is the Terry we've become accustomed to,” Borrego furthered.
Article Continues BelowNot to be outdone, LaMelo Ball also had another great game. After posting a triple-double against the Atlanta Hawks in a losing effort, Ball put up his seventh double-double of the season in a win. He finished with 27 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. It seem to be one of his most mature games of the campaign. He looked poised and well-balanced all night. He started out the game shooting the ball terribly, but he found a nice groove later in the contest.
When the Hornets' backcourt is clicking, they're a tough team to beat. Rozier and Ball's performance saved Charlotte from looking at some of the glaring stats in the game–like the huge difference on the boards as the Wizards had 65 rebounds to Charlotte's 36. Most teams will lose the game after losing the battle on the boards by nearly 30, but Buzz City managed somehow.

This is a good win for this young team looking to get into the postseason. The Wizards have been playing great basketball and have been one of the better teams in the league. The Hornets could be competing for a playoff spot with them down the road and they have taken the first two games in this matchup.
The Hornets will continue their road trip in Orlando for a matchup with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
