Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier had himself a day on Sunday.
Not only did he help the Hornets get their first win of the season and handed the Brooklyn Nets their first loss, but he also had one of the best dunks in the first week of the regular season. Rozier caught a body and posterized Nets superstar Kevin Durant in the process:
Rozier finished with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting to go with four rebounds and five assists in the Hornets’ 106-104 win after opening the season with a pair of losses. The 26-year-old point guard was in such a celebratory mood that he took to Instagram after to post a picture of his dunk while throwing shade at Durant:
Aside from posting the picture of the monster dunk and acknowledging their first win of the season, Rozier also mentioned that he went “body for body” in the caption while using placing the location of the dunk at “UPTOP.”
While the Hornets are just 1-2 to start the season, it has been rather eventful for Rozier. In addition to this poster dunk, he also went for 42 points and 10 3-pointers in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers to open the campaign.
Even if he found himself on the receiving end of a vicious slam, Durant continued to play well for Brooklyn in his return to injury, finishing with a game-high 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting with three rebounds and four assists in the loss.
The two-time champion and Finals MVP, however, is known for being active on social media and replying to comments aimed at him, so it’s not impossible to see him respond to Rozier’s Instagram post.
Rozier and the Hornets, meanwhile, hope to build on their first win when they face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
