Capcom announced last month that the multiplayer action game that releases alongside Resident Evil Village will have an Open Beta. Resident Evil RE:Verse pits two teams of three against each other in a fast-paced action-packed arena. One team plays as iconic protagonists across the Resident Evil franchise. The other team plays as different monsters and enemies across the series. It's a fight to the death, action-focused arena shooter that strays away from the regular Resident Evil gameplay formula.

RE:Verse‘s gameplay finds many similarities with the failed Resident Evil: Resistance multiplayer game by Capcom. While Resistance featured an asymmetric 4 vs. 1 game where one player assumed the role of the villain, RE:Verse balances the gameplay and makes it 3 vs. 3 instead.

Playing as the heroes, you get to take command of various protagonists from the series. Fight the villains as Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, or even as H.U.N.K. It's a shame that you can't play as Tofu. Playing as the villains, you can accumulate points to unlock the bigger monsters of the Resident Evil franchise. This will give you the opportunity to play as the Tyrant, Nemesis, and even Jack Baker from Resident Evil 7.

To play the game and get in on the fun, you first need to sign up for a Capcom ID. With that settled, head to the RE:Verse store page on Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox. Download the game from one of the three. Then, once you launch the game, you will be asked to log in to your Capcom ID account. Once that's settled, you're ready to go.
