Rapper and BIG3 owner Ice Cube invited LaVar Ball to attempt a halftime four-point shot during the Los Angeles event at Staples Center on Sunday.

The gist of the challenge is if he makes the shot, Ice Cube promises to buy a pair of Big Baller Brand ZO2 shoes for each player on Ball's AAU team. Ball posted a video clip on social media accepting the challenge and the event is set.

While the event will indeed attract a large crowd, Ice Cube was called into question regarding his decision to have Ball around the BIG3 at all by CBA Sports Network show host Damon Amendolara.

Amendolara likened Ball's presence at the BIG3 event to a carnival barker mentality, while also stating stooping down to get attention will affect Ice Cube's credibility.

Ice Cube quickly defended the credibility of himself and the league by first stating how people felt his idea of three-on-three basketball would be a gimmick and were proven wrong.

He then presented the challenge as entertainment coming from a native resident no different than a plate-spinning unicyclist that performs at halftime of any other entertainment venue.

Needless to say, the Damon Amendolara show would have no negative soundbites to play over the airwaves to cause a controversy between Ice Cube and Ball.
