The Indiana Pacers were one of the most underwhelming teams last season. Their season was filled with injuries and disappointment.

Indiana has a chance to win an NBA championship. The talent is there on the roster. The biggest concern with them is if they can stay healthy and if they can play to the best of their ability. Their roster consists of a team that can win the Eastern Conference. Their starting five could be Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, T.J. Warren, Domantas Sabonis, and Myles Turner. A starting five that could win 45 games in the NBA.

Five big Pacers questions heading into 2021-22 season

Pacers

Will Rick Carlisle be the answer for the Pacers?

Rick Carlisle comes from a long tenure with the Dallas Mavericks where he won an NBA championship. One of the biggest issues with the Pacers the last few seasons have been coaching and Carlisle will be a major improvement.

Carlisle is one of the top defensive minds in basketball. He is joining a team filled with defensive-minded players. The Pacers should have one of the league's best defenses and a competent offense that will win them games.

Can the Pacers stay healthy?

This will be the biggest concern for the Pacers season. T.J. Warren, Brogdon, and Turner. They all are frequently injured and for the Pacers to be successful this season they need all three of them at full health.

The Pacers are banking on their team to come back fully healthy. There are questions around Warrens and Turner's return and if Brogdon can stay healthy for a whole season. If the Pacers can't stay healthy, expect a similar result from last season.

Is there current roster enough to win an NBA championship?

The Pacers definitely have a talented enough starting five to win a title. The biggest concern for them is going to be their depth. They lack depth and lost some of their depth this off-season.

.Do they have enough to get past the Milwaukee Bucks or Brooklyn Nets? Maybe not, but it's doable. The talent is there for the Pacers and if they can mesh with Carlisle, stay healthy, and add a piece or two at the trade deadline they will be in a position to compete for an NBA title.

Will the Pacers have 3 All-Stars this season?

Indiana features a big four including Brogdon, Sabonis, LeVert and Turner. The four of them could very well end up being All-Stars. Malcolm Brogdon is one of the best 2-way players in the NBA, Domantas Sabonis is a two-time all-star, and Myles Turner is one of the best big men in the NBA. Caris LeVert is coming off a bad injury but he has all-star potential.

There is a good chance that if the Pacers are winning games they will at least have two all-stars in Sabonis and Turner. Sabonis and Turner might even get some post-season voting awards. Sabonis on an All NBA Team and Turner has the chance to win the Defensive Player of the Year award.

If these four can be as good as they should be there aren't many four-man rotations better. The Nets and Bucks big three are obviously better, but there's a chance the Pacers have a top three to five trio in the Eastern Conference. Domantas Sabonis can give you 25 points per night, while Brogdon and Turner are going to be elite 2-way players. LeVert is an offensive-minded player who can give you 20 points per night.

If they aren't in a position to win at the break – will they sell?

There have been many questions this off-season if the Pacers are going to make a big trade. That big trade would revolve around Ben Simmons. Does this make the Pacers better? Unless they're keeping three of their big four then it wouldn't be a bad idea. If they got rid of Malcolm Brogdon only and added Simmons they might be better.

Contending teams have been keeping an eye on center Myles Turner. Turner is one of the best rim protectors in the NBA and his ability to stretch the floor is something that every team in the NBA can benefit from. Adding Turner to a contending team can push them over the top to win the title.

Brogdon seems to be the one who is going to get sent off if there is going to be a trade this year.  Brogdon did just sign a new extension but he is the one who is in most trade rumors currently for the Pacers.

The Pacers have a chance to do something special this year. If they can stay healthy watch out for them. Their starting five is one who can win an NBA championship.
