In wake of Gordon Hayward‘s decision to join the Boston Celtics, it has left the Utah Jazz to consider other options to help fill the huge offensive void.

According to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune, the Jazz are looking to hammer out a sign-and-trade with the Celtics to acquire veteran forward Jae Crowder.

The Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics are in ongoing talks over a sign-and-trade that involves Gordon Hayward getting a max contract and Jae Crowder coming to Utah, league sources told The Salt Lake Tribune on Wednesday.

It is one of the last major gestures that Hayward is hoping to do in order to lessen the blow of his departure on the organization. Crowder has developed into a reliable starter with the Celtics over the last couple of seasons. He is coming off a productive season where averaged 13.9 points on career-highs with 46.3 percent shooting from the field and 39.8 percent from beyond the arc.

This wouldn't be the only move that Boston will have to make as the team has to shed additional salary in order to pay Hayward his four-year, $128 million max contract that will require nearly $30 million in salary-cap space this offseason to sign him.

It would mean that the general manager Danny Ainge would need to move other veterans such as Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley to make it work. Ultimately, it foreshadows that there are many roster moves ahead for the Celtics in the coming days.
