Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette, who has already missed a couple of games this season for differing reasons, has been ruled out of the team's game against the Houston Texans.

Fournette missed every practice this week with a quad injury.

Prior to being ruled out of the game, his questionable designation was surprising considering he never even attempted to practice this week.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network added Fournette should play in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers.

As you might remember, Leonard Fournette missed two games in three weeks in the middle of the season. The Jaguars ended up winning both of those games, with Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon helping to gain 337 yards on the ground.

Basically, Jacksonville's running game should be mostly fine without the rookie.

Fournette has 923 rushing yards and eight rushing TDs on 231 attempts in his rookie season. Those numbers are pretty insane when you factor in those missed games and a few more to still be played. He is only behind Kareem Hunt (1,046) among rookies in rushing yards.

With the playoffs looming and the Jaguars in a position to do damage in it, the team is best off making sure each player is as healthy as possible entering it.
