The ‘Inside the NBA' crew on TNT has been a staple of NBA gamedays since its introduction way back in 1989.

Recently, the tea leaves have revealed that there is a real chance the popular show could go the way of the dinosaur next season, if the league shifts to new outlets like Disney Plus and Amazon Prime as expected. Charles Barkley, the former NBA MVP with the Phoenix Suns and longtime ‘Inside the NBA' host, said that he'd be open to moving to another network if asked, although it's not known exactly how things will shake out at this particular time.

The show was compared to the popular sitcom ‘Golden Girls' recently by former NBA sixth man extraordinaire Jamal Crawford for one crucial and some might say unique reason.

Crawford revealed the comments during a colorful time for the NBA. Western Conference Finals star Anthony Edwards spoke about an NFL legend recently and whether or not he could hack it in the NBA. An embattled but previously successful NBA coach received a new contract that had fans talking.

Crawford's comments were shared in a video that was viewed over 100,000 times as of Wednesday night.

Crawford's Golden Girls/Inside the NBA Shout-out

Crawford compared ‘Inside the NBA' to a sitcom in his comments on the video, which was shared by the Awful Announcing page on Twitter. The comments were originally made on the Pat McAfee Show.

“They got their own sitcom, they're bigger than just the sport,” Crawford said, adding that he is in the growing camp of current and former players who would love to see the iconic ‘Inside the NBA crew' of Shaquille O'Neal, Ernie Johnson, Kenny ‘The Jet' Smith and Barkley return for another season.

“We have to have them.”

The Western Conference Finals continue on Thursday, May 30 with the Mavericks traveling to Minneapolis to take on Coach Chris Finch's Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Mavericks lead the series three games to one and are hoping to punch their ticket to the league's Finals against the Boston Celtics, who recently beat the Indiana Pacers in a clean four-game sweep.

It could be the Inside the NBA team's last game of the season if Dallas wins.
