Free agent big man, Jason Thompson, has reportedly signed a deal to play for Shandong of the Chinese Basketball Association.

The 8-year NBA veteran played his first seven seasons with the Sacramento Kings. He split last season with the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

At the start of his career, Thompson was accustomed to playing a lot of minutes in Sacramento. However, he was moved to the bench and since then has not been able to showcase his game to his fully ability.

The former 12th overall pick of the 2008 draft will look to resurrect his career in China. His new team currently has three other former NBA players in Samaki Walker, Stromile Swift and Alan Anderson.

The 6-11 big man has decent career averages of 8.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25.2 minutes per game. If Jason Thompson can gain his confidence once again and be close to the player he once was, he can definitely regain interest from NBA teams looking for a veteran big man who can provide quality minutes off the bench.
