Dante Exum has been raring to be a constant cog in the Utah Jazz rotation after falling in and out of it due to a myriad of injuries and inconsistencies throughout his last two.

The Aussie didn't have the best of rookie seasons, putting up only 4.8 points and 2.4 assists per game, while shooting a mere 34.9 percent from the floor and 31.4 percent from deep — devoid of any other particular contribution.

Yet Exum played 22.2 minutes per game and through all 82 games, something he hopes to repeat after playing only 80 games throughout the past two seasons of his career.

“I wanna play 82,” Exum told Olgun Uluc of FOX Sports Australia. “I played 82 in my first season. That’s 100 percent my No. 1 goal. I think, just being given that opportunity to play 82, I’m going to earn my minutes, earn my time, and be in one of those critical roles where I can have a major impact.

“Not just an impact; a major impact on a team. I want to be that guy on at the end of the game, and even taking the last shot. I think that’s a goal I’ve definitely set for myself, and expect myself to make.”

Exum signed a three-year, $33 million extension with the Jazz early in the summer, one with $1.5 million in likely bonuses (minutes and games played) and another $1.4 million in unlikely ones (goal-oriented: wins/stats/playoffs).

The lanky point guard has taken the steps to get his body right heading into the 2018-19 season after having played in only 14 games in 2017-18.

“Obviously I can’t control some injuries and stuff, but I’m doing everything I can now to make sure I stay on the court and stay healthy,” said Exum.

During his short time on the court last season, Exum put up career-high numbers, including 8.1 points on 48.3 percent shooting from the floor and 80.6 percent from the foul line, along with 3.1 assists per game.
