With only a few games left in the season, the Utah Jazz are 42-33 which is good for eighth place in the Western Conference. The L.A. Clippers are just one game behind and are looking to overtake them if they fall asleep.

And with the Jazz struggling from the beyond the arc, the Clippers are sneaking close by. But rookie Donovan Mitchell is confident that his team will get their stroke back.

In an Associated Press report via Yahoo! Sports, Mitchell said:

“We'll bounce back,” rookie guard Donovan Mitchell said. “There are seven games left and we know what's at stake.”

It's surprising to see such maturity coming from a rookie like Mitchell. He already knows what's at stake when the misses pile up. Especially now that the Jazz are on the brink of making it to the playoffs — something that critics did not expect this season. But if they want to fully silence the critics, then they must put this shooting slump to a grinding halt.

The Jazz are missing their threes horribly as of late. In their game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, they will be looking to snap a 3-point shooting slump.

They were just 9-of-33 from downtown in their loss to the Boston Celtics, 97-94. A few days prior on March 20, they shot 6-of-34 in a surprise loss to the Atlanta Hawks. In addition, they are just 21-of-91 from 3-point land in their last three home games.

Their defense has been the Jazz's calling card throughout the season but they need to make their shots as well to be successful, and it takes no rocket scientist to conclude that.
