Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell expects Team USA to come back stronger for the 2020 Olympics next summer after placing seventh in the FIBA World Cup.
Mitchell doesn't know if he's going to be on the squad that goes to Tokyo, but he would like to help Team USA redeem itself and win gold at the Olympics.
“I know the guys, whoever gets chosen to go to Tokyo, what they expect. Next year we’ll come back and we’ll be ready, not that we weren’t ready this year,” Mitchell said, via The Athletic. “I think I have to wait for them to ask. But I want to be there.”

Team USA is going to need some superstars to play in the 2020 Olympics. It's clear this FIBA World Cup roster just wasn't good enough to win.
Hopefully, superstars such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Kyrie Irving — among others — will suit up for Team USA next summer.
The Americans won gold at the summer Olympics back in 2016 in Brazil. That team had Jimmy Butler, Kevin Durant, DeAndre Jordan, Kyle Lowry, Harrison Barnes, DeMar DeRozan, Irving, Klay Thompson, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George, Draymond Green and Carmelo Anthony on it.
