Through the first few weeks of the season, Utah Jazz rookie guard Donovan Mitchell has continued to show reason for much promise to develop into a special talent.

Mitchell put that on full display against the Milwaukee Bucks where he tallied 24 points in the Jazz's 121-108 win that included an impressive spin move and floater over star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. Following the contest, the 21-year-old took time to appreciate that moment of making a bucket over one of the top players in the league, per an Associated Press report via USA Today Sports.

“When I made that move on him, I started smirking just because he's an All-Star and it's cool to make that sort of play on a guy like that,” Mitchell said.

Donovan Mitchell has quickly worked his way into the conversation as being one of the best rookies in the league. He is currently averaging 14.8 points per game while becoming a penciled-in starter for the Jazz in the process, having started in 12 of the 20 games played this season.

Mitchell has been a huge offensive spark plug for Utah as he ranks third in scoring among rookies along being second with 40 made 3-pointers and third for most 20-plus point games (six). Although his field goal percentage (38.2) hasn't exactly been encouraging, his ability to be a high-volume scorer in his first year in the league could be just the beginning a promising career.
