Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Jazz players said privately that Rudy Gobert, who tested positive for the virus on Wednesday, had been careless in the locker room touching other players and their belongings.

Mitchell was the only Jazz player or personnel member to test positive for the virus out of 58 tests administered on Wednesday night. All the remaining tests came back negative, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Gobert also made it a point to mockingly touch the microphones after he was done with his media availability last week, something reporters, employees, and many of his teammates won't find so funny looking back.

The NBA decided to suspend the 2019-20 season upon learning of Gobert's test results, and members of the Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder were tested on-site after their game was canceled prior to tip-off.

The league also asked that five teams that played the Jazz within the last 10 days be tested and quarantined, including the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The NBA is on halt for the next two weeks until there's more clarity on a course of action to follow. Some expect this hiatus will last much longer than that.

Gobert and Mitchell are the first two coronavirus cases in the NBA. The message has been sent loud and clear, as the league will enforce the safety of its players, employees, and fans until it's fully safe to resume normal operations.
