The Utah Jazz' amazing season took a significant hit on Sunday night. Against the Minnesota Timberwolves, one of their key contributors, Joe Ingles suffered a scary-looking non-contact knee injury. The Australian forward had to helped off the court by his teammates, which isn't a great sign.

After the game, Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that the team will have an MRI on Ingles' knee. No update about the initial prognosis was given regarding the Jazz forward's injury.

The initial optics of the injury doesn't look good. Joe Ingles injured his knee on a seemingly routine drive to the basket. As he was dribbling the ball, his left knee suddenly buckled on him, without any contact. Non-contact leg injuries tend to be the worst kind of injuries, which is why Jazz fans are understandably worried for their player.

It's a shame that Ingles got injured at this stage of the season. The Jazz are quietly enjoying a successful regular season (despite minor flaws), sitting at fourth place in the Western Conference. Losing Ingles, one of their best shooters and defenders, will leave a gaping hole on the team. It will be even worse if the Aussie forward proceeds to miss the rest of the season due to this injury.

Hopefully, Ingles escapes with just a relatively minor injury. It sucks to see a player injured on the court, especially one as valuable as the Jazz forward. In the meantime, Utah will have to find a way to win games without one of their key players. If there's been a calling card for this team before, it's their depth, and it will be tested now.
