Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert takes great pride in working hard every week after winning his first Player of the Week honor.

Gobert shared his thoughts on winning the award for the first time in his six-year professional career, per Eric Woodyard of the Deseret News.

“It’s a great honor. It’s a little something that I appreciate. I’m doing the same thing I’ve been doing every week and I’m going to keep doing it and I’m focused on the team.”

Last week, Gobert averaged 16.5 points on 69.4 percent shooting, as well as a Western Conference-best 15.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks. His performance helped the Jazz to a 3-1 record.

Among his best performances include a monster double-double — 18 points and 20 rebounds — in a 114-97 win over the Phoenix Suns. In their 114-98 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, he notched 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting along with 17 rebounds and three blocks.

Rudy Gobert is seen as the key players for the Jazz. They currently hold a 41-29 record, good for seventh place in the West. If all goes well for them, it will be there third straight playoff appearance.

For what it's worth, Gobert is also a top favorite in receiving his second Defensive Player of the Year Award.
