Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was just made aware of the controversy between former teammate Elijah Millsap and current team vice president Dennis Lindsey, who allegedly uttered a racial remark towards Millsap six years ago.

Per Ryan Miller of KSL.com, Gobert admitted he was unaware of the alleged comment of Lindsey, who was then the Jazz's general manager, and said he will personally look into the matter as he had a friendly relationship with Millsap when they were teammates from 2014 to 2016.

“I never ever heard about it. Elijah was actually one of the guys that I was close with when he was part of the team a few years ago. So I am gonna reach out to him and find out.”

On Wednesday, Millsap, the younger brother of Denver Nuggets veteran Paul Millsap (also a former Jazz player), dropped the bomb by accusing Lindsey of slamming him with a racial comment during his exit interview in 2015. A year later, the Jazz waived the reserve swingman.

Per Sarah Todd of Deseret News, Lindsey has already denied the accusation.

Jazz coach Quin Snyder, who Millsap noted was also present during the incident, also denied the claim.

“Honestly, I don’t remember the conversation. I can’t fathom Dennis saying something like that.”

It's still a matter of wait-and-see for the truth to come out. But Millsap's accusation, if proven true, will mar the Jazz's reputation as an organization. Especially now that they're doing extremely well and may actually have a shot at the title with Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell leading the charge.
