With their biggest area of weakness being a reliable number one receiver, the New York Jets are in dire need of finding some help for second year quarterback Zach Wilson, which they can do prior to the 2022 NFL Draft. As they aim to improve their passing game, gang green will be in the market for an explosive deep threat. Now that several players are holding out due to contract disputes with their respective teams, this may be the Jets' chance to pounce.

On the other hand, they do have plenty of choices in this year's draft with a stacked receiver class. In their continued efforts to improve on offense, the Jets will continue to weigh their options at wideout. So without further ado, let's now take a look at the three best receivers the Jets should trade for ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Jets 2022 NFL Draft Trade Beforehand Wide Receiver Targets

Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel is a swiss army knife on offense who's coming off a career year with the San Francisco 49ers. Currently in the midst of a contract dispute with the team, Samuel is refusing to attend training camp until the issue's been resolved. With New York willing to spend big to get Wilson the help he needs at receiver, this move would be an absolute game changer for the Jets.

His versatile skillset would elevate their offense to new heights. Not to mention this would be a fun 49ers reunion for head coach Robert Saleh and running back Tevin Coleman. Adding a high-IQ playmaker like Samuel would be a major step in the right direction for the New York Jets and allow them to run Mike LaFleur's innovative offensive game plan to perfection.

DK Metcalf

Even though Jets previously offered the Seattle Seahawks the 10th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and they turned it down, it wouldn't hurt for them to counter with a better offer. Considering that they also possess the 4th overall pick, they could try to entice the Seahawks with multiple first round picks.

Given that Metcalf clearly doesn't want to be apart of a rebuild in Seattle and New York is building towards playoff contention, this would be another smart move for the Jets to make. It would also give them an exciting young talent to work with while Wilson continues to progress as a starting quarterback in the NFL. In due time, Wilson and Metcalf could form killer on-field chemistry and become an electric QB/receiver duo.

Terry McLaurin

As another high production wideout that's holding out due to contract disputes, Terry McLaurin is another viable trade target for the Jets to pursue. He's been the focal point of the Washington Commanders passing game over the past few seasons and is now looking to cash out in The Nation's Capital.

Adding McLaurin to a passing game that will also feature elite tight end C.J. Uzomah would massively upgrade the Jets' aerial assault. Plus a receiving trio of McLaurin, Braxton Berrios, and Elijah Moore could be a dangerous combo for them on the passing front. Bringing McLaurin to The Big Apple would greatly increase their chances of making the playoffs in 2023.
