The New York Jets aren't in the best situation at the moment. They're starting the season 1-6 and are seemingly doomed to another offseason where they will have to rebuild through the draft. With no end in sight, the fans look to Joe Douglas and Christopher Johnson for answers.

However, the owner has seemingly run out of ideas. The acting owner talked to some fans ahead of the game. One of the fans reportedly spent nine hours to get to the game on time. Johnson's response to his dedication was surprising and disappointing.

Some will think that this is a jab at the GM he hired in place of Mike Maccagnan in May. However, Douglas doesn't see these words as a slight towards the way he's run the organization so far.

Per ESPN's Rich Cimini:

“My take was he seemed like he was a person like a lot of people in this building — passionate and frustrated about where we are at 1-6,” Douglas said. “I can tell you my feelings on Christopher haven't changed one bit.

“Frankly, he deserves better than 1-6, and we're going to do everything we can to make sure we're not in this position again in the future.”

It is disappointing for Johnson that the team is playing this way. The team is 10-29 ever since he took over for Woody Johnson, who is currently working as the US ambassador to the United Kingdom. It will not be surprising if he pulls the plug on Douglas' reign as well.

However, he has to trust his GM and let him make moves he deems are necessary for their success. After all, he hasn't given him an entire season to sort out this mess.
