The New York Jets have shifted things a bit in their backfield this offseason that saw the addition of veteran running back Isaiah Crowell on a three-year, $12 million deal.

It hasn't taken long for Crowell to make a strong impression on his new team as Rich Cimini of ESPN has reported that the 25-year-old has looked much faster than expected while proving to be a more effective receiving option than anticipated.

RB Isaiah Crowell is faster than I expected. He's a better receiver than Bowles expected. He'll be a big factor.

Crowell spent his first four campaigns with the Browns where he became a prominent fixture in the running game that has seen him become a consistent source of production topping more than 850 rushing yards in each of the last two years. He will have the chance to become a highly effective dynamic duo in the running game in 2018 alongside Bilal Powell, who is coming off a career-best 772 rushing yards and five touchdowns last season.

This is a chance for Crowell to showcase that he's a more versatile running back than he was in Cleveland where he was sparsely used during his tenure with his best campaign in that regard coming in 2016 where he had 40 catches for 319 receiving yards. He could have plenty of opportunities to prove that he can be an effective option in the passing game that could solidify his role in the offense.

It has made it clear that he has quickly made a strong impression on the coaching staff that could put him in play to be a huge factor next season.
