New York Jets safety Jamal Adams wasn't shy in expressing his thoughts about the team's need to add top players like Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell.

The Jets had one of their worst performances of the season in suffering a 38-3 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday, with that causing New York to finish 4-12 on the year.

Now, the team will turn its attention to what figures to be a crucial offseason that will likely include searching for a new head coach, as reports suggest that Todd Bowles will be fired.

So, with lots of changes expected to be made, Adams is of the belief that a revamped roster should be a top priority.

From Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News:

“You got to go get players, man,” Adams said. “You got to go get big-time players. You got to go get names. It’s simple. You look at the top teams. You look at the Saints, you look at the Rams, you look at the Chicago Bears. You look at all these teams, man. Come on, man.

After discussing the need for the Jets to go after top talents, Adams went on to mention the recruiting process in trying to bring in big names via free agency, which led to the mentioning of Bell.

“It’s just like LeBron James said. He always recruits,” Adams said. “I recruit every week, every day, every year. But when you recruit, some people say, ‘Oh, he doesn’t believe in his team.’ That’s not it. I’m just trying to maximize the opportunity.”

“There’s so many guys out there, man,” Adams added. “(Le’Veon) Bell’s one… obviously. But you got to win. You got to create a culture around here for free agents to come. You know what I mean? Free agents just don’t come to losing situations. They want a team that’s striving to get to that Super Bowl.”

Adams certainly makes a great point about New York's need for upgrades at key positions, and getting someone like Bell in the backfield would undoubtedly be a huge boost.

Of course, how the team approaches free agency will depend a lot on the coaching staff.

And at this point, there are plenty of unknowns when it comes to who will be roaming the sidelines for the Jets during the 2019 season.
