The New York Jets have won an actual football game. While that rather mundane development has caused a portion of New York City to meltdown in existential dread, the glory of avoiding a winless campaign has been greeted with unabashed joy inside the Jets' locker room.

Count rookie tackle Mekhi Becton as one of those whose celebrating and not afraid to let everyone know it.

Hilariously tweeting out a picture of Kobe Bryant cradling the Larry O'Brien trophy, the image seemed apt, as the victory over the Los Angeles Rams would appear to be the closest the Jets will get to experience a championship celebration for some time to come.

Already anticipating the backlash from Jets fans over the team's win, Becton wrote an addendum through his tears, acknowledging that Kobe's celebration and his own came under *slightly* different circumstances. Regardless, the victory ensures that New York will avoid becoming only the third team in league history to have gone 0-16–leaving the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns as the only squads with that ignominious distinction (accomplishment?).

While Becton's joy should certainly not be dismissed, the most important result of Sunday's game, might be that the Jets will no longer be in line to obtain the top overall pick in next year's draft. With both the Jacksonville and New York holding the same record at 1-13 respectively, the Jaguars own the tiebreaker due to a weaker strength of schedule. That however, will be a concern for the New York front office, leaving Mekhi Becton to savor his first NFL win.
