The New York Jets have struggled mightily this year, still winless over a quarter of the way into the season. They have had trouble scoring the ball on offense, and they haven't managed to stop anyone on defense either. The last thing this organization needs is internal turmoil, but that didn't stop defensive coordinator Gregg Williams from speaking his mind.

When asked about his thoughts on the Jets' 0-5 start, Williams had some rather scathing remarks about the team's offense.

“It's not a very good number — and a lot of it's not all defensively,” Williams said, per ESPN. “It's points on the board and we've got to do a good job of that, and how you do that is make them kick more field goals, got to do a better job in field-position-type things.

“As you see, the scoring is up in the league, but it still makes me sick.

Seven words hung in the air: “A lot of it's not all defensively.” When asked what he meant by that, Williams turned cryptic.

“You'd have to figure it out,” Williams shared before ending his video call with Jets reporters.

The Jets' offense currently ranks 31st in yards per game and 32nd (dead last) in points scored per game. Their defense, on the other hand, is 25th in yards allowed per game and 30th in points allowed per game.

Better–but only marginally better. Is it enough for Gregg Williams to vocalize his frustrations? Probably not. The last thing the New York organization needs is more bad press.

It's safe to say that the Jets need to address more than just one side of the ball if they want to start winning games.
