Quinnen Williams was faced with a ton of expectations in his rookie season with the New York Jets in 2019. After a mediocre rookie campaign, Williams' trainer believes that the Alabama product is poised for a breakout season in 2020:

“He wants to show people, ‘I was the third overall pick for a reason,'” Williams' personal trainer, Kevin Brown, said in a phone interview, via ESPN's Rich Cimini. “That's his fire this offseason. Truly, he's all-in. I'm like, ‘We need a Pro Bowl this year.' The mental space he's in now is totally on another level. This year, you guys will see a big difference in Quinnen Williams.”

During the 2019 NFL Draft, the Jets selected Williams with the No. 3 pick in the first round. Coming out of Alabama, Williams was expected to make a seamless transition to the NFL.

However, similar to other rookies, Williams showed that he was going to need time to get adjusted to the league. In the 13 games he suited up in as a rookie, Williams notched 28 tackles, four tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, and 2.5 sacks.

Seeing that he was taken right after Nick Bosa, there was pressure for Williams to perform at a high level for the Jets. Bosa would win the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award after having nine sacks, 25 quarterback hits, and a forced fumble last season.

There's no doubt that at 22 years old, Williams has the tools to become a dominant interior defender. While some people are wary of his potential, Williams' trainer is confident that the former All-American will prove why he was the No. 3 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft in 2020.
