Zach Wilson and the New York Jets had a game to forget against the New England Patriots in Week 2.

The Jets were unable to find the end zone even once, finishing with just six points on two field goal kicks in the 25-6 defeat. Zach Wilson spoke out with gusto on the prospect of getting another shot against draft classmate Mac Jones.

Via Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post:

“Just like it was the first time we played them, everything’s a steppingstone,” the Jets QB said. “We’re building something here that’s going to be special for a long time. When it’s going to be super-special, we don’t know, but all we have to focus on is one step at a time, throwing those bricks down and getting better. I’m excited to play these guys again. I think it’s going to be a blast.”

The first Jets-Patriots bout doesn't look too lopsided when you peek the box score. Wilson didn't throw any touchdowns in the game, but neither did Mac Jones.

The defining stat of the game was Zach Wilson's four interceptions thrown that killed any momentum for the Jets to muster up offense. If he can minimize his mental mistakes and read the defense better, maybe he can put a dent into Bill Belichick's sterling record against rookie QBs.
