New England Patriots head honcho Bill Belichick isn't a man known to mince his words. That's why his take on Zach Wilson after they curb-stomped the New York Jets was quite interesting to say the least.

The Jets QB went 19-for-33 for 210 yards, while throwing four interceptions with zero touchdowns. But despite the rough line that garnered Wilson a QB rating of 8.8 for the game, Bill Belichick was quite complimentary of the novice signal-caller.

Via Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post:

“Wilson made some pretty impressive throws,” New England coach Bill Belichick said. “That kid’s going to be a good player … he is a good player.”

Belichick was then asked to specify about what exactly impressed him from the Jets QB's performance, to which he obliged.

“Did you see the throws he made?” Belichick said of Wilson. “That last 7-route with a minute to go in front of their bench? That’s a great throw.”

Sure, Zach Wilson made made a few impressive plays here and there. However, you'd be hard-pressed to convince Jets fans that those were enough to overshadow his rough second game.

There's a ton of pressure on Zach Wilson to be the quarterback that saves the Jets. He hasn't looked the part through two games just yet, but it's way, way too early to write him off. Still, Jets fans have been here before and are hoping Wilson proves their doubts wrong.
