The New York Jets may have missed out on Tyreek Hill, but they still managed to get a done in NFL free agency on Thursday, one which seemingly has Zach Wilson excited. The Jets re-upped with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, announcing he'd be back with the team on a one-year deal. Wilson saw the news and took to Twitter to share his excitement, hilariously referring to Flacco as his “dad” while welcoming him back to New York.

Wilson is fired up to have the veteran quarterback return to the team, saying, “Always helps to have an Elite QB in the locker room. Welcome back dad, @joeflacco”

The 37-year-old is headed back to the Jets on a one-year deal, and the 22-year-old Wilson was pumped up to have his “dad” back with the team.

Flacco will be tasked with serving as Wilson's backup and also helping the young quarterback reach his maximum potential in Year 2. After a rocky rookie season for the Jets quarterback, he'll be hoping to bounce back in 2022, and having Flacco's leadership and experience to help mentor him will be critical in him achieving success.

Clearly, Flacco and Wilson have a solid relationship, and it's great to see the young quarterback so eagerly welcoming back the former Super Bowl MVP.

This will be Flacco's third season with the Jets, having first joined up with the team in 2020, following a one-year stint with the Denver Broncos, and 11 seasons in Baltimore. He's started 5 games throughout his tenure with the Jets, going 0-5 with 9 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions.
