The New York Jets have an ideal situation at the quarterback position. The team currently have three viable options to start under center, but they'll likely only keep two with Teddy Bridgewater more than likely the odd man out.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets are open to the prospect of trading Bridgewater.

There are too many variables to definitively know Bridgewater’s immediate future, but the Jets are amenable to moving the former Vikings quarterback in the right circumstance, according to sources.

The Jets will use the NFL preseason to showcase Bridgewater as they try to find a trade suitor for the veteran quarterback, via Mehta.

Teddy Bridgewater’s audition for prospective employers will begin in earnest in the Jets preseason opener Friday night, prompting inquiring minds to wonder whether it’s only a matter of time before the former first-round pick is traded.

New York will get their preseason underway against the Atlanta Falcons at MetLife Stadium on Friday. All indications point to veteran Josh McCown being the starter come Week 1 with Bridgewater and rookie Sam Darnold potentially getting the bulk of the workload during the four preseason games against the Falcons, Washington Redskins, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles.

As for Bridgewater, the former Minnesota Vikings quarterback is hoping to make a lasting impression after dealing with a knee injury which sidelined him for all of the 2016 NFL season. Bridgewater attempted only two passes last season with Minnesota one of which was an interception.
