The 2018 NFL Draft is expected to be one of the more quarterback-heavy affairs in recent years. However, the order in which they are selected sill has yet to be determined.

Fortunately, there seems to be some clarity on where Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is going to end up. ESPN NFL Draft expert Todd McShay says the New York Jets will reportedly take Mayfield with the third overall pick. He said this live on ESPN on Tuesday.

‘’From what I’m hearing around the league, I expect Baker Mayfield to be the pick at 3 to the New York Jets’’

Mayfield has been considered one of the top quarterback prospects ever since the end of the season. The former Heisman Trophy has received his fair share of criticism and is widely considered as the biggest high-risk, high-reward players in the draft. However, it may be one the Jets are willing to take a gamble on.

New York managed to shore up the quarterback position by bringing back veteran Josh McCown and signing Teddy Bridgewater from the Minnesota Vikings. McCown did a solid job as the starter last season and brings plenty of stability for the rebuilding offense. Meanwhile, Bridgewater was once one of the more promising, young quarterbacks in the NFL prior to his devastating knee injury. He will be hoping to establish himself as such once again in the 2018 NFL season.

That said, the team should have more than enough time to develop Mayfield before he will be truly needed under center.

Regardless, the Jets will have to wait and see what the two teams in front of them decide to do with their pick. The Cleveland Browns have been reportedly enamored with Mayfield throughout the whole draft process. The New York Giants are also potentially looking for Eli Manning's successor under center.
