With the NFL trade deadline quickly coming up, teams are beginning to inquire about some major talent. The New York Jets seem willing to part with star safety Jamal Adams, and it’s been reported that the Dallas Cowboys and a handful of other teams in playoff contention have called about acquiring the player.

According to a report from FOX Sports’ Peter Schrager, the Cowboys are not the only team calling about Adams. Of course, the return for acquiring a player of Adams’ talent is likely going to be large, as NFL Media's Ian Rapoport recently reported that the Jets are looking for more than a first-round pick in order to be willing to move on from Adams.

Rapoport also notes that a deal between the Cowboys and Jets is not imminent or close, but that there is still some time to go before the deadline. As it stands, it seems as if the Cowboys are dead set on acquiring some major talent in an effort to boost their chances at making and succeeding in the playoffs. As for the Jets, they’ll be looking for some big compensation in return, especially for a player that has already performed as well as Adams has.

The NFL trade deadline is set for 4:00 p.m. EST, so as of this writing, there is only about an hour to go until teams can no longer trade for players. Due to the hectic nature of the trade deadline, expect a flurry of deals to occur closer to the deadline, as teams continue to try and make the best deal.
