The New York Jets are going to be major players in the free-agent market, and they appear set to target two of the top wide receivers available in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Will Fuller.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN states Smith-Schuster and Fuller are “at the top of the list” of targets as the Jets look to begin their new era with head coach Robert Saleh, who came over from the San Francisco 49ers.

The Jets have money to spend, and upgrading the receiver position that featured Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder is a necessity. Denzel Mims missed a good chunk of games due to injury, but this receiver room needs an upgrade.

Fuller was playing terrific football before being suspended for PED usage, and he ended up finishing the year with a career-high 879 yards and eight scores in 11 games before missing the remaining five games.

Smith-Schuster's numbers went down in 2020 due to the emergence of rookie Chase Claypool, but he still finished with 831 yards on 97 catches and nine scores, with 157 yards and 13 grabs in their playoff loss to the Cleveland Browns.

The Jets have been linked to Deshaun Watson through trade, and with the second overall pick they have also been linked to Justin Fields and Zach Wilson. It would be a surprise if Sam Darnold returns as the starter.

The Jets finished 2-14, fired head coach Adam Gase and are in serious need of a roster makeover .Adding a top-tier wide receiver would help whichever quarterback is throwing passes next season.
