On Friday, ex-NBA guards Jimmer Fredette and Stephon Marbury got into an altercation during the third quarter of a Chinese Basketball Association game in Shanghai.

In a video posted to Twitter via Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, the incident between the two players occurred late in the third quarter when Fredette; who plays for the hosting Shanghai Sharks, was stopped in the paint by Marbury of the Beijing Fly Dragons.

No foul was called on the play, but a frustrated Fredette pushed Marbury, who immediately retaliated by getting in his face. Although no punches were thrown during the altercation, Fredette and Marbury had to be separated by players and referees.

The 40-year-old Marbury, who played in the NBA for 13 seasons and was a two-time NBA All-Star in 2001 and 2003, spoke about the incident after the game.

“He forgot what an NBA steal felt like,” Marbury said. “That's how we played in '96 and for sure in Coney Island.”

Fredette ended up getting the last laugh, as the guard went off for a triple-double with a whopping 54 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists in Shanghai's 123-119 overtime victory over Beijing. Marbury finished the game with only four points, six rebounds and four assists in the loss.
