The New York Knicks may start their preseason opener without two of their starters.

There is a possibility that Derrick Rose could miss the game due to the current sexual-assault lawsuit trial that is scheduled to start Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Rose wasn't 100 percent about his status but is staying ready just in case he is able to play.

Joakim Noah, is on the injured list because of a sore hamstring he suffered, but it isn't serious. He may be held out of the game due to precautionary reasons taken by the team.

Noah's work will have to come twice as fast because he has already missed two days of training camp due to the birth of his first child.

The success of the Knicks season hinges on their players staying healthy. There was certainly a risk to adding Rose and Noah as core pieces of the team. Team president Phil Jackson knew the risks calling it a risk-reward move.

The team will attract plenty of attention, but their success or failure remains to be seen.
