John Cena made an epic WWE return on Sunday night at the much-anticipated Money in the Bank event, showing up unannounced after Roman Reigns defeated Edge in the title bout. It was Cena's first WWE appearance in 15 months.

Cena got an incredible pop from the adoring crowd on hand:

John Cena then confronted Roman Reigns in the ring and delivered his “You can't see me” hand gesture. While there was no fighting, it was clearly a warning sign from the legendary wrestler.

After he made his appearance, Cena then announced that he'll be kicking off WWE's Monday Night Raw:

It was awesome to see John Cena make his return to the ring on Sunday night, even if he wasn't there to actually fight. The crowd went absolutely nuts for the big surprise and was probably itching for even more fireworks, but we're going to have to wait a bit for those.

Cena had been teasing a WWE return for a bit, and now he has finally done it. The 44-year-old has been more focused on his acting career of late, which certainly makes sense given the numerous high-profile films he has appeared in over the last few years.

Of course, getting John Cena back out there for an actual fight is what everybody really wants to see. We'll see what he has in store for us at WWE Raw. He says we'll learn more about his “motivation” to return, and let's hope there's a whole lot more action.
