Through 20 plus games into the 2021-22 season, the John Wall saga with the Houston Rockets has yet to be resolved as the veteran point guard continues to sit out the team's games thus far. He recently expressed his desires to suit up and see action but the Rockets remain committed to their rebuilding efforts as they opt to give the minutes to their young guys instead.

Though he hasn't played for quite a while, Wall is still capable of producing at a high level as he averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in 40 appearances in the 2020-21 season. Surely enough, there is still room in the league for a player of his caliber though that spot might not be in Houston already, given the current dynamic between the two sides.

As of the moment, Wall isn't seeing a lot of opportunities elsewhere as other teams don't have that much cap space to accommodate the $91 million left in his current contract. He will also lose a ton of money if he agrees to a buyout with the Rockets but it might already be the closest opportunity for the five-time All-Star to get back on the court this season.

With that said, here are three destinations that could serve as a new home for John Wall moving forward:

Potential John Wall Destinations

3. Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers are currently struggling with a 12-11 record but they are still looking like playoff contenders in the Western Conference thus far. This season, Paul George has been carrying most of the scoring load for the team since Kawhi Leonard remains to be sidelined due to a partial ACL tear in his right knee.

Tyronn Lue's squad will definitely climb an uphill battle as they are set to miss the services of their best player for the majority of their campaign. While Leonard is still recovering, the team would need the help of another proven vet which can be found in the form of John Wall. At the age of 31, he can still keep up with other talented players and will definitely be an upgrade over Eric Bledsoe who has yet to find a consistent rhythm this season.

With the Clippers in win-now mode, John Wall can definitely provide much-needed scoring and playmaking as he helps Paul George lift the squad back to the top of the Western Conference this season.

2. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks is another squad that can benefit from Wall's potential arrival, especially with their ongoing struggles on the floor. They aren't performing like last year's squad as they are currently sitting in the 11th spot of the East with an 11-11 record. To make matters worse, the homecoming of Kemba Walker hasn't looked pretty as he already fell off the cliff and eventually found himself out of Tom Thibodeau's rotation.

Amid their current situation, New York would need another steady presence in the point guard position and John Wall is definitely capable of breathing new life into the team's starting five. Surely, he can provide more value to the Knicks as compared to current starting PG Alec Burks in terms of talent, skills, and experience.

As attractive as it may seem, acquiring Wall can still be a gamble for a New York squad that is raring to meet high expectations and get back to the playoffs after their performance last season. However, it might also be a risk worth taking for the Knicks as his contributions can potentially allow them to return as playoff contenders if it turns out well for both sides.

1. Miami Heat

Without a doubt, the Miami Heat are aiming to win now, especially after acquiring Kyle Lowry and P.J. Tucker in the offseason. Their recent moves have been paying off for them as they are currently back as one of the top teams in the East with a 14-9 record at the third spot of the standings.

Though their offense mainly revolves around Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, and Tyler Herro, the Heat are still in need of more contributors who can provide a scoring boost, be it in the starting lineup or coming off the bench. Insert Wall into the picture who can definitely help Miami now that Lowry's numbers have dipped to 12.9 points and 7.6 assists this season.

Not much will be asked from the former Kentucky talent as the load in the backcourt can potentially be shared between the two steady veterans. With Duncan Robinson still stuck in his shooting slump, the Heat's offense would greatly benefit from the added firepower that John Wall can bring to the team.

If he manages to pick up where he left off last year then there is no doubt that Erik Spoelstra and company will have a good chance at dominating the Eastern Conference this season.
