Josh Allen burst onto the scene in 2020 as he ended up being an MVP candidate. Leading up to last season, nothing Allen did was all that remarkable. In fact, he was very average, had a strong showing in 2019, then went bonkers during the 2020 season. He proved that patience pays off if the franchise builds their prospects. With the NFL being a “win-now” league, this is something we don't see all that often.

Heading into the 2021 season, the question has to be asked, who is the next Josh Allen. There are plenty of young quarterbacks who are looking to prove themselves. Taking the leap like Josh Allen did will be difficult, but it's not impossible. Some of the young quarterbacks in the league have struggled to start their careers, but now have a better roster built around them. That seems to be the not-so-secret ingredient for success in the NFL.

Several quarterbacks could have made this list, but only two have the best chances to catapult their production to the stratosphere like Josh Allen has. One has a much improved offense around him after his franchise made aggressive moves this offseason, while the other was traded to a better situation. With that said, here are two young quarterbacks poised to breakout in 2021.

Daniel Jones

The New York Giants quarterback is set up for success this year after the front office loaded the offense with weapons. Daniel Jones should have a much easier time finding open targets now that he has an improved receiving core. The addition of Kenny Golladay gives the Giants an alpha wide receiver that should become Jones' favorite target immediately. Additionally, the front office drafted Kadarius Toney in the first-round, giving New York a speedy route-runner. Also include Evan Engram, Sterling Shephard, and Darius Slayton, Jones has the weapons to succeed in 2021.

What really increases Jones' chances though is the return of Saquon Barkely. The superstar running back will alleviate pressure and force opposing defenses to respect the run game. This should help the receivers get open quicker, giving Jones more options in the passing game. We'll see how it goes, as the only possible blemish is the offensive line. Football is won in the trenches, and the Giants offensive linemen have to step up in a big way. Even so, Jones is set up to have a monster year.

Sam Darnold

After struggling under Adam Gase while playing for the New York Jets, Sam Darnold has been gifted a second chance with the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have a prolific offensive coordinator in Joe Brady, and many believe he can get the best out of Darnold in 2021 and beyond. Carolina has the potential to a competitive team, as they have a solid receiving core and arguably the best running back in the NFL.

DJ Moore is a fantastic athlete, Darnold is reuniting with Robby Anderson, and Terrace Marshall is an exciting rookie. Throw in Christian McCaffrey who is an elite pass-catching running back, and you have yourself a solid offense built around the quarterback. Similar to the Giants, the offensive line is in question. However, Darnold has the tools around him to completely turn his career around.

Nevertheless, who do you guys think is the next Josh Allen?
