Washington Wizards wing Kelly Oubre has been fined $25,000 for kicking a basketball into the stands in Game 2 of the team's first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, the league announced Friday.
The incident occurred right after the Wizards grabbed a 2-0 lead in the series with a 109-101 victory. The Kansas product only had one point in the outing after having scored 11 points in Game 1.
Oubre, who is only in his second-year of his rookie deal, will likely find this silly offense quite costly, unless he's able to nab a kickball sponsorship from it.
He's fallen into a third-string placement at the small forward position after the Wizards acquired Bojan Bodganovic from the Brooklyn Nets prior to the trade deadline this year.
