Former Minnesota Timberwolves sharpshooter Nemanja Bjelica has had quite the offseason. On July 5, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Bjelica and the Philadelphia 76ers agreed to a one-year contract only for Bjelica to back out before he signed his contract. Now, he appears set to join the Sacramento Kings.

On Tuesday, it was reported Bjelica wasn't going to Philadelphia and could actually be heading back overseas to a Euroleague powerhouse for one year. Now it appears he could be staying in the states after all.

The Kings are young and Bjelica is just the type of veteran player they could use as they try to take that next step forward in their rebuild. Bjelica was looking for more than a one-year deal when he entered free agency and the lack of offers has been a bit of puzzling. He is a very good shooter who probably didn’t get enough playing time during his time with Tom Thibodeau and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

At the beginning of free agency, the Wolves extended a qualifying offer to Bjelica but pulled the offer so they could sign veteran Anthony Tolliver from the Detroit Pistons.

If Bjelica does sign with the Kings, he is going to be a good player on the floor and veteran leader off the floor who can help some of the players adjust to life in the NBA. Bjelica averaged 6.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, hitting 41.5 percent from the 3-point line last season. If a deal is to get done look for it to happen in the next few days.
