Willie Cauley-Stein impressed a lot of basketball fans on Wednesday during the Sacramento Kings' win over the Los Angeles Lakers. He had one of the best games of his professional career, reminding everyone what he’s capable of doing on the court. The only question that remains is if he can perform at the same level consistently.

The 24-year-old Kentucky product was asked what’s keeping him from being aggressive in all of their games, and he surprising shared that he already had 35 stitches in his hand after hitting the rim before. It has apparently caused him to lose some confidence, and has been thinking twice about challenging some shots, or even attacking the basket hard, with the fear of hurting his hand again.

Willie Cauley-Stein finished the night with a season-high 26 points, to go along with six rebounds, and two steals across his name. He also made some crucial baskets down the stretch, which allowed the Kings to maintain their lead, and never relinquish it, en route to a 113-102 victory.

Given his solid output on the night, it could do wonders for Cauley-Stein’s confidence, and help him continue playing well in their upcoming games. Should that happen, it will be a huge boost to the Kings, and will establish himself further as an integral part of their future plans.
