Vlade Divac and Luke Walton are “very likely to remain” in their current positions with the Sacramento Kings next season, per Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Divac is the Kings' general manager while Walton is the head coach. Both men are signed through the 2022-23 season.

Kings owner Vivek Ranadive had expressed frustration with Divac and Walton after the team's 15-29 start. However, the team played better following that awful start and had a record of 28-36 before the season was suspended due to COVID-19.

The Kings haven't made the playoffs since 2006. Youngsters De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III and Bogdan Bogdanovic are eager to lead Sacramento back to the postseason, but the Kings just can't seem to catch any breaks.

Fox appeared in 45 games for Sacramento before the season was suspended. The Kings guard dealt with a few injuries here and there but was still able to average 20.4 points and 6.8 assists in 31.7 minutes a night.

Bagley, meanwhile, only played in 13 games because of a variety of ailments. The lefty put up 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. The pressure on Bagley keeps increasing since Luka Doncic is already a superstar for the Dallas Mavericks in his second year in the league.

Divac and his associates passed on Doncic to draft Bagley, and that move doesn't look good right about now. Still, it appears Divac's job is safe with the Kings, as is Walton's gig. Walton took over as head coach in 2019-20 after three seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
