The phrase “super team” has been thrown around a lot recently to describe the Golden State Warriors. It's an apt description of the Warriors' roster, which now boasts two MVPs after the addition of Kevin Durant.

The former Thunder player will join Golden State's all-star core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, and although Thompson is used to playing alongside an MVP in Curry, he still can't believe he will get to play with former MVP Durant.

Thompson told Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports:

“I mean (Kevin and I) we're just getting to know each other. I’m still in awe of the guy. I’m still kind of starstruck when I’m around him, like ‘Man, that’s Kevin Durant, you know? He’s on our team. That’s crazy.'”

It's somewhat surprising to see Thompson so starstruck considering he's played alongside the two-time defending MVP in Curry. On the other hand, many are still astounded that Durant chose to join the Warriors at all. Add in that never before have two former MVPs under the age of 30 played together on the same team, and Thompson's “awe” starts to make a lot of sense; not only is Thompson amazed that a generational talent like Durant is joining his team, but that his talents will be united with both Curry's and his own to make arguably the greatest shooting trio in NBA history.

All eyes will be on Oakland come next season.
