The New York Knicks are clearly all in for the 2019-20 campaign. Despite the fact that the 2018-19 regular season is barely halfway over, the Knicks continue to rebuild in an effort to attract some big-time free agents this upcoming offseason — current Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant included.

In what initially appeared to be a coincidence, the Knicks recently used a photo of Durant alongside rookie center Mitchell Robinson in a promotional photo for the team's 2019-20 season ticket packages. Because such an ordeal immediately made waves throughout the league while creating a slew of media headlines, the Knicks have since released a statement regarding the matter.

“Game action photos are used all the time for marketing purposes, but given everything going on, we took precaution of taking the photo down,” reads the team's official statement, via Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News. “To be clear, it was one of several rotating photos on the website.”

In addition to Durant, New York has repeatedly been linked to current Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving. In a perfect world for Knicks fans, the lowly Eastern Conference franchise will go from the cellar to the top of the standings next season, thanks to the additions of both Durant and Irving — and maybe even current Duke Blue Devils standout Zion Williamson.

Because of the Knickerbockers' recent roster moves, trades and dismal record, it is entirely possible that New York will land all three superstars come 2019-20. However, it is also possible that absolutely nothing goes the Knicks' way…
