RJ Barrett put on a show in his first game back from injury. He put on a career-high scoring effort in the New York Knicks' 115-100 loss to the Miami Heat.

The 21-year-old Barrett scored 46 points, which no Knicks player as young as him has done in over 70 years. He shot 13-22 from the field and added nine rebounds and two assists to his final stat line. He left much to be desired by shooting just 14-22 from the free-throw line.

Even with his charity-stripe inefficiency, Barrett had himself a fantastic game. The Knicks shot horribly, as everyone besides Barrett combined to shoot 32 percent from the field. He was the only reason they were able to keep it close with one of the Eastern Conference's best teams.

Miami's Jimmy Butler praised Barrett after the game and declared that he's going to become the face of the franchise. Butler has been a fan of Barrett for a while. In a game between the Heat and Knicks last season, he gave Barret some advice during the game.

Bam Adebayo thinks Barrett has what it takes to be great, too. Barrett said the praise from the All-Stars means a lot.

The Knicks don't have much to play for this season. They are 25-35, which is good for just 12th place in the conference. Especially with their point guard situation so messy, the best thing they can do is let Barrett cook from here on out.
