During Thursday's 25-point comeback win over the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle was given the good ole' Madison Square Garden “BOOOOOO” when was underperforming. Instead of using the “Boo's” from the crowd as motivation to step his game up, Randle decided to give the fans the “thumbs-down” gesture. He then followed it up after the game by saying to the media that the hand-signal was meant as an “STFU” gesture to Knicks fans. That obviously didn't sit well with the NYC faithful, who deserve the right to cheer and boo whenever they please. Randle knows that these fans have suffered through some of the worst basketball of this century and are not ready to go back to their losing ways. He let the fans know that he is still on their side with this statement on Friday, via his personal Instagram account and Ian Begley:

For the season, Randle is averaging 19.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 42.2 percent from the floor, 32.4 percent from three, and 76.7 percent from the free-throw line. All except for the field goal percentage and three-point percentage are higher than his career averages. His next chance to improve upon those stats and to show the NY fans that he is still with them comes in a rematch with the Celtics on Saturday night. After that, the truest test of whether Randle is forgiven or not will come when the Knicks return home to face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, January 10th.
