Kemba Walker of the New York Knicks might be one of the hottest players in all of basketball and that didn't change on Christmas. The Knicks veteran is coming off a 40-point game and now just posted a triple-double against the Atlanta Hawks. This is the tenth triple-double on Christmas in NBA history. New York is currently winning this one big in the fourth quarter with only three minutes remaining.
What Kemba has been able to do since rejoining the rotations is nothing short of impressive. He has had three 20-plus point games in a row and has been a major reason that the Knicks have been able to finally find some offensive success during the past few games.
They haven't been playing great basketball this season and it is questionable why they decided to sit Kemba Walker because he has been playing decent basketball. The Knicks have found much more success would he is on the court compared to when he is off of it. Coach Tom Thibodeau is a defensive-minded head coach and since Kemba doesn't exactly play the best of defense, he found his way out of the rotation.
His role is obviously going to change after the trade deadline if he still is on this Knicks team. It would make sense from the Knicks' perspective if they did decide to keep him as the backup point guard and go out and get that first-star guard that they desperately need to win a championship.
