New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis is currently on international duty with his country Latvia for the European Championships. While there was some concern about the big man’s knee after he sat out the team’s tune-up games ahead of the tournament, Marc Berman of the New York Post reports that Porzingis is fine:

Latvia will begin the European Championships on Friday with Porzingis, who says his mild knee bruise is “90 to 95 percent” healed after missing some of the country’s exhibition games.

Porzingis certainly played like he was close to full strength as he put up 18 points on 7-of-16 in Latvia’s 92-82 defeat against Serbia. He also had a couple of highlight reel plays as got up for a huge dunk and had a massive rejection.

However, Pozingis has had a slightly concerning amount of nicks and injuries, which have seen him miss a total 26 games in his first two NBA seasons. Hopefully for the Knicks, their star player comes away relatively unscathed during EuroBasket and heads into the upcoming season close to 100 percent.
