New York Knicks rookie center Mitchell Robinson had a block party Sunday night, and he was nice enough to invite the Orlando Magic with him:

The Knicks were dominated 115-89 by the Magic, but it was a night Mitchell Robinson will never forget. The rookie finished with nine blocks, four rebounds and four points.

In the 11 games so far this season, Robinson has started in eight of them after initially coming off the bench. The Knicks were planning on bringing Robinson along slowly after making him the 36th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, but he has been impressive and has earned the starting job.

Robinson may be a work in progress, especially on the offensive end of the floor, but he has shown promising signs of being a starting center in the league thanks to his defensive chops. He could be the steal of the draft if he keeps playing at a high level and is a beast at the defensive end.

So far this season, Robinson is averaging 5.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 0.8 steals in 18.5 minutes per game.

The Knicks are counting on Mitchell Robinson and have high hopes for the youngster. With the rebuild underway in New York, they need to develop young talent, and they seem to be doing a great job developing the center and helping him work on his craft.
