Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has been linked to the New York Knicks for quite some time now. He's a native of NY and the organization even sent scouts to watch him play during the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks. Mo Bamba meanwhile, who is likely on his way out of Orlando, is apparently one who would love to see Mitchell in a Knicks uniform next season.

The big man tuned into Mitchell's IG Live on Thursday and had two simple messages for his fellow New York native.

Via Twitter user Jay Knicky:

Mitchell is evidently at a crossroads in his Jazz career. They've failed to get anywhere in the postseason again and there's reportedly animosity between him and Rudy Gobert. Spida wouldn't be a cheap option for the Knicks, but they have some expiring contracts and were just awarded the 11th overall pick in next month's 2022 NBA Draft.

Mitchell is coming off another solid campaign, averaging 25.9 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.2 rebounds. His numbers were very similar in the playoffs, but the Jazz guard only shot 21% from downtown as Utah was disappointing on the big stage.

The Knicks would evidently love to acquire a player like Donovan Mitchell, but he doesn't become a UFA until 2026. A blockbuster trade is the only way this could become a reality. Maybe they'll also try and bring in Mo Bamba, who is coming off the best campaign of his injury-riddled career thus far as well.
